Since it started trading in 2006, Monksleigh has delivered a wide range of services in the waste sector to organisations ranging from 'start-up' through to large 'blue chip' companies, in sectors extending from private equity and retail through to local authorities, and waste businesses and developers, and many have continued to use our services on a repeat basis over this period.

With a special focus on waste management and associated issues, Monksleigh can draw upon a range of experiences, knowledge and a wider network of skilled individuals when needed, to offer support and advice at an operational and project level through to more strategic level decision making.

Andy Olie C Dir BSc (Hons) MCIWM FIoD

Managing Director

Andy was Managing Director of Wyvern Waste Services Limited up until 2006 and has over 30 years experience across the full spectrum of the waste sector, in operations, management as well as in business development and planning.

Andy has diplomas in company direction and business management and is a Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Andy loves his rugby, although his playing days are way behind him.

 

Joanne Wood BSc (Hons) MCIWM PIEMA

Senior Business Advisor

Jo is a qualified Environmental Manager as well as a Chartered Waste Manager and has over 20 years' experience of working within the waste and environmental management arena. She has held both senior policy and operational roles in a number of private and public sector organisations. She has in-depth experience of both the UK and EU policy and legislative development.

Jo captains a local netball team when she isn't running around supporting her daughter at swimming meets.

 

Tom Fyfe BSc (Hons)

Data Analyst & Researcher

Tom has worked as a researcher and data analyst for over 30 years. He is well versed in utilising a variety of tools to analyse outcomes including the use of bespoke software for understanding market forces and population movement.

Tom has a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and experience within the waste sector having worked in waste management companies. Knowledgeable in the public and private sector, he has delivered solutions for the UK policing authorities and provided valuable research to inform policy makers.

Self-confessed geek and nerd, avid gamer. Enjoying a Massively-Multi-player-online game though usually ending up as a corpse.

 

Sandrine Bennett, BA (Lit), BSc (Hons)

Marketing Advisor

Sandrine has worked in Marketing and Advertising for over 10 years in a variety of environments ranging from retail and publishing to hospitality. She oversaw the e-commerce development for a Travel and Events company, and gained experience in consumer goods and business-to-business services.

Sandrine has found the last few years quite frustrating as she loves travelling, discovering different cultures and sampling the local specialities.

 

Nigel Cronin MCIWM MBA

Monksleigh Associate

Nigel has over 35 years professional experience in the waste management and construction materials sectors, including many years in senior management roles, within international operators and, more recently, environmental consulting.

In 2018, Nigel moved from a 12 year period as Technical Director role with SLR Consulting, advising on waste projects in the UK and abroad, both within the private and public sectors. His work included a number of high profile due diligence projects involving Cory, Biffa, WRG/FCC, Viridor and Veolia, more recently, provides support for a number of investors on market availability risks and a 'reality check' on the assumptions made in relation to medium to long term feedstock and associated drivers.

Despite all of this, Nigel has now finally balanced his work within the sector with his need to ride his bike as often as time allows around his local Kent countryside!

 

Howard Ellard MCIWM CEnv CGeol

Monksleigh Associate

Howard has 35 years experience in the waste sector from regulator to operator to consultant. He was Business Development Director at Viridor for three years, capping a 20-year career with them. Whilst at Viridor he directed the development of their EFW portfolio.

Howard has a passion for geology, real ale and cricket, but not necessarily in that order!
